Use lego pieces to build props, backgrounds, sets, and buildings for your brickfilm.

An alternative to using Lego is to use Megablocks, or using both.

Minifigures are also known as Lego people, they come in a variety of shapes and colours. They can even be famous characters.

Use minifigures as the characters for your story.

Using a table as the set for your movie allows your to take photos at the height of the minifigures.

Other alternatives could be to use benches, desks, or any flat surface above ground level.

The camera is used to capture the individual frames for your brickfilm. A better quality camera is preferable but, you can use any such as the camera on your phone or tablet.

Things You Will Need

In order to create a brickfilm you will need some essential equipment. The essentials are outlined below.

Use a tripod to keep your still. This will help you to keep the camera in the same place and make your brickfilm easier to watch.

If your are using a tablet or phone, try to use a stand or dock to keep it steady.

The movie editing software is important as it allows you to put the frames together into a single movie.

If you have a Mac you can use iMovie to edit your brickfilm.

Using a lamp to light up your 'set' will reduce the light difference between shots. This will make the frames flow and seem more cohesive.

Tape baking paper over the lamp shade to reduce the glare and reflection off the lego pieces.

Here are some extra equipment you could use to make your brickfilm look and feel more professional.

Add a voiceover once you have finished. To give the characters a voice. Or add backgroud noises for extra effect.
